Help for the Homeless
Fri 31 Mar 2023Last month, a small group of Year 4 girls initiated and undertook a sponsored walk on the school mile track during their lunch break. A committee of 6 decided to raise money with 3 girls agreeing to do the walking.
Altogether the 3 walked 49 laps which is just shy of 5 miles - kindly adjudicated by Mrs Le Count.
The girls wanted to give the money they raised to the homeless and settled on giving to local homeless charity CHESS. In total the girls raised £150.35.
Earlier this week, the 3 walkers visited CHESS Homeless where they handed in their donation.
The 3 girls that did the walk were:
LEILA ACTON ROBERTS (P4)
WILLOW CONNOLY (O4)
IOANNA ZASHEVA (P4)
With additional supporting friends / committee members that helped raise funds and cheered the 3 girls on when they walked, these were:
ISLA BROWN (W4)
AVA CONWAY (P4)
SOPHIA DIAMOND EVES (W4)
The girls were really thoughtful and wanted to do something to help others, they also were really caring and supported each other’s endeavours which we think is something worth celebrating. It is incredible to see young people developing these kind and generous characteristics.
