Friends of Mildmay Primary School
Fri 16 Sep 2022Before the two schools merged, the Friends of Mildmay Junior School, under the leadership of Karen Aslett and Rebecca Carter, raised significant funds for the benefit of the school. A successful PTA is something that we would really like to re-establish for Mildmay Primary School in order to be able to fund additional projects for all the children.
Friends of Mildmay Primary School (FOMPS) is already a registered charity with a healthy account balance, but it does need a new leadership committee. We have in the past had discos, fetes, parties, quiz events, picnics and much more; to be fair; a new committee would probably benefit from some new thinking too.
If a PTA committee is something that you would like to be a part of, and you have creative or organisation genes that you’d like to put to great use for your child‘s school, then please register your interest by emailing parents@mildmayprimary.org and writing 'FOMPS Committee Volunteer' in the subject line. We will host an introductory meeting with all interested parties once we know who you are. There is a significant commitment needed from committee members, but it would be great to have a good sized group to share the load – I already have staff volunteers to represent the T in PTA.

Name Our Mascot
Wed 07 Sep 2022Our new mascots - a loveable Lion and Robin - don’t yet have any names! This is why we’d like the children to put on their thinking caps and come up with a great name for the Mildmay mascots.
All you need to do is email our competition@mildmayprimary.org inbox with your child’s fabulous idea for a name (adding their own name and class), no later than Friday 16th September, and we’ll find a way for them to choose from the best options.
Be really creative!!

Mildmay Primary School is OPEN!
Mon 05 Sep 2022After a great deal of hard work from a large number of people, we were delighted to be able to formally open Mildmay Primary School on Monday 5th September, 2022.
Cllr. John Galley – Mayor of Chelmsford, was in attendance to officially cut the ribbon and declare the school open for business.
With two performances from the Singing and Signing Choir (“True Colours” and “This is me”), words of welcome from the CEO of Bridge Academy Trust and a special message from the Mayor, the (new) school and nursery opened its doors to over 630 children aged 3-11.
We were also able to introduce a new member of the team – the school mascot (who will be named by the children) livened up proceedings and was instantly loved by all the children.
Our new school motto “Growing, Caring & Learning Together” will set the tone for many exciting years to come for the Mildmay community. The two schools that have merged had a great reputation on the Tile Kiln estate and it will be for us at Mildmay Primary School to work hard to build on their fantastic legacy and to make our own mark.
I couldn’t be prouder of Mildmay than I am today and I feel honoured to be the headteacher of this new school.
