'Gaia'
Wed 19 Oct 2022Thank you to the Year 5 team who took all of Year 5 to Chelmsford Cathedral this morning to view the Anglia Ruskin 'Gaia' exhibition to support their thematic topic work on 'Space'.
Always great to report that the children were a credit to us and were very well behaved on the way there and back too.

Hello Yellow!
Fri 14 Oct 2022Today we've had a focus on mental health and wellbeing and joined in with Mental Health Awareness Day.
By wearing yellow to show our support, taking part in lots of wellbeing activities (an assault course, an Autumn walk, lots of Yoga and meditation) and accepting charity donations for the children's mental health charity 'Young Minds' - we hope that the children go into the weekend feeling positive, recognising their own self-worth and confident to talk about how they're feeling.

Cllr. John Galley - Mayor of Chelmsford
Thu 13 Oct 2022We were all very saddened to learn that Cllr. John Galley, Mayor of Chelmsford, passed away this week.
Cllr. Galley only recently opened Mildmay Primary School and gave all the children some excellent advice to be brave and make the most of the opportunities presented to them.
Our thoughts and kindest wishes are all with his wife and family at this sad time.

Mascot Vote - Attempt No.2!
Thu 06 Oct 2022It appears that our first effort at naming the mascots may have been accidentally sabotaged. We had over 1700 responses, which means something went wrong somehow as we only have 640 children.
So the vote is accurate and fair, we're relaunching it for this weekend, offering the same choices and asking that votes are limited to one per child.
"Thank you to all the children who made suggestions for the names of our new school mascots (Lion & Robin). There were loads to choose from so I have created a shortlist of pairs for your children to choose from.
Please ask your child to register their preferred pair of names (just once) for our Lion and Robin* mascots following the link below:https://forms.office.com/r/8ax8xyFg3x

Reading Buddies!
Thu 06 Oct 2022It was absolutely fantastic to see 45 Year 5 children come and assist Year 1 with their reading this afternoon.
May this be the first of very many ways that the upper and lower school interact this year and in the future. What a perfect example of the advantages of being a primary school.
Go Mildmay!
