Mildmay Primary School

with a Resource Base for Deaf Children

“Growing, Caring and Learning Together”

Charity & Fundraising

At Mildmay Primary School we are responsive to the children’s interests and ideas when it comes to support for local and national charity events. Often brought about by awareness from the Votes for Schools lessons or by suggestions through the School Council, children request opportunities to support charitable endeavours with donations or by raising funds.

At school we endeavour to facilitate their ideas, support their planning and celebrate their achievements. Children, either individually, in small self-managing groups or as a whole class/year/school have, in recent times supported charities and organisations such as;

  • Essex Air Ambulance
  • Chess - Homeless Charity
  • Little Princess Trust
  • Farleigh Hospice
  • Children in Need
  • Comic & Sport Relief
  • Chelmsford Food Bank

Through sponsored challenges, personal donation (of hair), garage sales, young enterprise, bake sales, fun runs, bike rides or any number of other efforts.

Mildmay Primary School is also extremely fortunate to have the support of a committed PTA. The FOMPS committee work exceptionally hard to plan and deliver a range of fundraising activities to enhance the experience and resources available to the children. Opportunities to support other families in the community are also sought. FOMPS fundraising and events (since our merge to be a Primary School) include:

  • Christmas Fete – including Santa’s Grotto, Prize Raffle and ‘Snow Globe’.

  • Halloween, Easter and Year 6 Leavers Discos

  • Summer Fair – including inflatables and stalls

  • Pre-loved Uniform Sale Rails

  • Onsite Textile Recycling

  • Nativity Costume Swap, Christmas Jumper Swap,

  • Non-uniform fundraising days (eg. PJ Day or Crazy Hair Day)

  • Quizzes, Bingo and Christmas Wreath-Making nights

And the committee are always seeking new and engaging ways to get the whole community involved.
