Tapestry
At Mildmay Primary School we use ‘Tapestry’, an electronic learning journal, to record, track and share your child's learning throughout their time at nursery,
Records are linked to the different areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Early Learning Goals (ELGs).
‘Tapestry’ is a great way to enable us to work in partnership with you to record, celebrate and share special moments from school and from home.
‘Tapestry’ is a great tool to assist your child's development, providing opportunity to assist your child’s communication and language development; it helps to build their confidence to speak to and in-front of others, including groups.
‘Tapestry’ is also a lovely way to keep parents updated with ongoing development and areas of learning; this also gives parents the opportunity to also practise at home and share this with us.
‘Tapestry’ can also be used as a great conversation starter with your child at the end of a day when you ask what your child has been up to at nursery. Often, the initial response is "I don't know" or "I can't remember", however with Tapestry you can either show them the picture and ask them to elaborate on what they were doing or you could say "I saw a picture of you taking part in a circle game, can you tell me more?"
‘Tapestry’ is a safe and secure system and only those registered personnel can access your child's journal.
