In Year 5, we will be setting just 10 spellings a week. Following our school spelling programme, we will teach the same rule over the space of 2 weeks. For their spelling homework, we will set the children 5 statutory spelling words and 5 words which follow the rule that we have been teaching.

Homework will be alternated between English and Maths each week.  This will usually be set on a Monday and due in by the following Monday.

We still expect children to be reading minimum 15 mins each day and still practise any times tables they are working on.
