Year 6
During our 'Big Draw' week, year 6 looked at various lettering styles and the effects they can create. We linked this in with street art and discussed whether Banky's art was inspirational or just vandalism.
As part of The Big Draw week we practiced our observational drawing skills, by drawing our own shoes! First we took them off, put them out side and drew them from memory. This was really hard and the difference in our sketches is very visible.
We have been studying a range of artists with contrasting styles. These have included Wassily Kandinsky, John Singer Sargent and Frank Bowring. We then created our own paintings inspired by these artists. Some of us have submitted our works to the Royal Academy Young Persons' Summer Show.
