Year Two
What a busy term! We really enjoyed our history topic 'London's Burning'. We have been exploring key questions that enabled us to find out what life was like in London in 1666 and to learn key facts about the fire. It was so much fun chalking the fire on the playground and using water squirts to try to put it out!

In science we learnt about materials. We enjoyed taking an autumn walk to collect natural materials. We used the natural materials to create Andy Goldsworthy inspired art.

In science we also conducted an experiment to find out what conditions seeds need to grow. We found out that they need water and warmth to germinate but that they need light to remain healthy.
In DT we have been learning about stability and how some shapes are more stable than others. We made a chair for baby bear using paper rolled into cylinders.
We had a lot of fun on a snowy week creating snowmen- out of real snow, a DT activity using socks and a science activity using marshmallows!
