Ofsted Report Published
I am pleased to advise that, after what seems to have been an age, the Ofsted report for the inspection of Mildmay Primary School on 13th & 14th May 2025 is finally ready for publication.
We are delighted with the outcome of the inspection and especially with the ‘Outstanding’ grading for Personal Development at the school. The report itself is written in the Ofsted house style, so it is not quite as effusive as the verbal feedback we received in school; nevertheless, it is resoundingly positive about the Quality of Education, the Early Years provision, Deaf and SEND provision, and the leadership, management and governance of the school. It is also incredibly positive about the children which is, after all, what we are all about.
The report highlights only one ‘Area For Improvement’ (AFI) for the school which, when explained in person by the lead inspector, tells us that some of our teachers are particularly strong in some subjects and we should do our utmost to try and ensure that everyone is able to teach all subjects to the same very high standard. While I am all for this level of aspiration, I am not sure I could ever be the Musician, Geographer, Historian or Sports Specialist that some of my colleagues are, so the AFI may be ever so slightly out of reach.
I’d like to thank you for your submissions in support of the school via the Parentview survey and your continued support for the school in general. I’d like to thank the children for being 100% Mildmay before, during and since the inspection. And, I’d like to thank the incredible Mildmay Staff and Governance team for all they do – not only in preparation for inspection, but also for their efforts on a daily, weekly, termly and annual basis to give the Mildmay children the very best opportunities for progress and success.
